Isavuconazole (BAL-4815, RO-0094815) is a novel ultra-broad spectrum triazole compound that is active on yeast, mold and dimorphic fungi and inhibits cytochrome P450 (CYP) dependent 14α-lanosterol demethylation. It inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cell membrane.
