Amperozide hydrochloride is an atypical antipsychotic which displays a high affinity for 5-HT2 receptors (Ki = 26 nM) and a low affinity for D2 receptors. Amperozide hydrochloride supresses ethanol drinking in genetically ethanol-preferring rats.
