Xanthohumol, an isopentenated chalcone from hops, inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 activity and exhibits chemoppreventative effects. Xanthohumol inhibited diacylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1) and DGAT2 with an IC50 value of 40 μM. Xanthohumol is also a potent antiviral agent against a range of DNA and RNA viruses. Xanthohumol can induce growth arrest and apoptosis in tumor cells. Phase 1.
