L-Isoleucine 4-nitroanilide is a solvent that is used in the hydrolysis process of casein. The enzyme activity and solubility of L-Isoleucine 4-nitroanilide increases with higher pH levels. It has shown to be effective as an immobilizing agent for enzymes that are sensitive to oxygen, such as aminopeptidases and polyvinyl alcohol hydrolase. L-Isoleucine 4-nitroanilide is also a good substrate for filamentous fungus and can be used in the production of peptides from protein hydrolysates.
