β-Amyloid (25-35), sequence GSNKGAIIGLM, is A highly toxic synthetic derivative of amyloid β-peptide (Aβ-peptide) that forms fibrous aggregates. Beta-amyloid protein (25-35) is involved in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.

Brand: BCM

Target: Beta Amyloid

Signaling Pathways: Neuroscience

In Vitro: The amino acid sequence of the Aβ(25-35) peptide is NH2-Gly-Ser-Asn-Lys-Gly-Ala-Ile-Ile-Gly-Leu-Met-COOH, where the first Gly represents amino acid 25 and the last Met represents amino acid 35. Amyloid beta-peptide (25-35) was also studied for the first time in a gel state. Comparative studies were also conducted using vibration absorption and ECD. The conformational preferences of Aβ(25-35) peptide films were also investigated using vibration absorption and VCD spectroscopy. Amyloid beta peptide (25-35) induces apoptotic effects on isolated brain mitochondria and the REDOX state of methionine-35, which plays a key role in inducing programmed cell death pathways and toxic events.
