Brefeldin A (BFA) acts on HCT 116 cells to inhibit lactone antibiotics and ATPase and on protein transport (protein transport) with an IC50 of 0.2 μM to induce cancer cell differentiation and apoptosis. It also improves the efficiency of homologous recombination repair and is an enhancer of CRISPR-mediated HDR. Brefeldin A is also an inhibitor of autophagy and mitophagy.
