Dimesna (BNP-7787) is a uroprotective agent that can be used in combination with cancer chemotherapy drugs to reduce urotoxicity.
Brand: BCM
In Vitro: Dimesna can reduce cyclophosphamide in a dose-dependent manner in rat bladder cancer.
In Vivo: Dimesna regulates paclitaxel-induced hyperpolymerization of MTP, while mesna, the in vivo metabolite of Dimesna, prevents cisplatin-induced inactivation of MTP. Renal organic anion transporters OAT1 (KM=636 μM),OAT3 (KM=390 μM) and OAT4 (KM=590 μM) specifically bound Dimesna.
Melting Point: 273 °C (decomp)
Stability: Hygroscopic
