Berbamine (BA, BBM) is a natural product of dibenzyl isoquinolines isolated from the Chinese herb alamite. It is a novel inhibitor of bcr/abl with potent anti-leukemia activity and is an inhibitor of NF-κB. Berbamine (BA, BBM) inhibits the growth of cancer cells and induces apoptosis in human myeloma cells by targeting Ca² + /calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII).
