Indoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor. Indoprofen prevents muscle atrophy in aging mice by activating the PDK1/AKT pathway. Indoprofen selectively increased SMN2-luciferase reporter protein and endogenous SMN protein.
